Bong Sun You is Principal Researcher in Korea Institute of Materials Science (KIMS), and has been studied Mg alloys about 25 years since 1977.

He got PhD at Kyungpook National University in Korea. He has been served as Chair in Magnesium committee of Korea Institute of Metals and Materials (KIM) which is the representative scientific society in materials. He organized one of the world biggest scientific conference on magnesium alloys, “10th International Conference on Magnesium Alloys and Their Applications (Mg 2015)” in Jeju island, Korea.

His main research area in Mg alloys is new alloy development. After he developed SEN alloys several years ago, new non-flammable & corrosion resistant magnesium alloys, he mostly contributes to verify the mechanism of the chemical behavior academically and commercialize of these alloys with the global automobile and aircraft companies.
